We are better together!

Unity in the Community (UIC) is a collaborative movement of local churches, nonprofit organizations, community leaders, businesses, and volunteers dedicated to strengthening the Pittsburg, Texas community. Founded on the belief that we are rooted in love and branching out in unity, our mission is to build bridges and break down walls that divide us—whether those barriers are economic, educational, racial, social, or spiritual. We believe that we are better together.

The vision for Unity in the Community grew from relationships and partnerships developed through the recovery and community outreach efforts of Celebrate Recovery Culture communities. As people from diverse backgrounds came together with a common purpose, a greater vision emerged: creating a united community where every person has the opportunity to thrive, heal, and contribute.

UIC is committed to bringing resources, opportunities, and support to the people of Pittsburg and the surrounding area. Through collaboration and service, we work to broaden perspectives, foster healing, restore hope, and strengthen the bonds that connect our community.

Throughout the year, Unity in the Community hosts two annual community-wide events and organizes multiple service projects and volunteer workdays. These projects may include helping families move, cleaning up properties, removing storm debris, cutting fallen trees, building wheelchair ramps, assisting seniors, and meeting other practical needs within the community. By bringing volunteers together to serve their neighbors, we create meaningful connections and demonstrate the power of unity in action.

At our core, we are committed to being the hands and feet of Christ—serving others with compassion, dignity, and love. As we build one another up, we also build a stronger, healthier, and more connected community for future generations.
